Globalsign SSL
We offer four SSL certificates, each with a different level of protection. Deciding which certificate to use depends on who you are and what you want to do. Some organisations want to encrypt information for confidentiality. Others want to prove they've been authenticated and are legitimate.
What do the different levels of SSL certificate do?
Domain Validation SSL
- Works on domain names registered with registrars other than EuroDNS.
- Domain name ownership is confirmed by our Certificate Authority.
- Automated application means certificate is issued in a few minutes.
- Verification of your company information is unnecessary.
- Secure site seal will only display the relevant encryption data.
- Wildcard option is available for an additional fee, so you can use it on an unlimited number of subdomains and servers.
Organisation Validation SSL
- For businesses and organisations that need a higher level of authentication.
- Domain name ownership is confirmed by our Certificate Authority (CA).
- CA performs a basic background check of your business.
- Secure site seal will display the results of the background check.
- Wildcard option is available for an additional fee, so you can use it on an unlimited number of subdomains and servers.
Extended Validation SSL
- The Extended Validation certificate brings the highest level of encryption security.
- Recommended for high profile websites vulnerable to phishing attacks such as big-name brands, government entities, and financial institutions.
- Domain name ownership is confirmed by our Certificate Authority.
- The CA performs a rigorous audit and validation of the organisation concerned. Repeated yearly, the audit includes:
- Confirmation of the legal, physical, and operational existence of the organisation.
- Checks that the organisation’s identity matches official records.
- Verification that the organisation has agreed to the issuance of the certificate.
- Once implemented, the Extended Validation certificate will turn your website's address bar green.
