If you only need to change hosting providers, update your domain’s nameservers to point to the new host. If transferring your domain registration as well, follow the standard domain transfer process: unlock the domain, get the EPP code, disable privacy protection, and initiate the transfer.
You can buy your domain through a registrar, the company that manages the reservation of domain names. As an example, EuroDNS is a registrar.
The registrar takes care of the initial registration process, but also provides support with domain renewal or transfer. They are in charge of providing technical support to registrants experiencing issues related to their domain. We recommend comparing the offers from several registrars whose websites you can easily find on Google.
Follow these steps for a smooth domain transfer:
A domain transfer usually takes 5 to 7 days, depending on the registrars involved. However, if all steps are completed promptly, some transfers may be finalized in as little as 24 hours.
